MARGIN ON SERIES/NON-REFUNDABLE/SPECIAL FARES GOES UP MUCH MORE AS TICKET ARE PURCHASED BY TRAVEL AGENTS IN ADVANCE . WANTS TO FOLLOW PRESUMPTIVE/BASE FARE MODEL. GST ON BASE FARE IS .9% . DO I NEED CHARGE BOTH ON BASE FARE AND MY MARGIN . TOTAL CONFUSION AS OF NOW FOR LACK OF CLARITY AS EVEN DEPARTMENT PEOPLE LOCALLY ARE UNABLE TO CLARIFY CONFIDENTLY . THEY SAYS CHARGE ON OLD MODEL WHERE WE NEEDS TO CHARGE TAX ONLY ON BASE FARE AND MARGINS ARE LEFT ASIDE. UNABLE TO RAISE BILLS TO CUSTOMERS DUE TO FEAR IF WRONG BILLING GOVERNMENT WILL DEMAND PENALTY AND ADDITIONAL TAXES LATER. NO SINGLE FORMAT AVAILABLE ON ANY GOVERNMENT SITE. CAN ANYONE HELP. more
As far my information..the ticket price is base fare + taxes. Travel agents who is reselling the tickets is adding only service charge on the above. In this case the vendor has to add 18% commision on the service charge only NOT on the entire ticket price. Billing should mentions the breakups as per this. more
This GST is a good and simple tax as per our PM. Only our FM shd explain how he has CONVINCED OUR PM TO SAY IT IS " GOOD AND SIMPLE" three different taxes for one service,multiple range of taxes in each and every item of provisions for the home, Common man cant check for each item whether the seller has put the right slab tax.
