Traffic violations

I am a resident of Madinaguda, Hyderabad. There are rampant violations of traffic rules. It is becoming increasingly life threatening for pedestrains. I once a victim of such thing. A person on a two wheeler driveing at high speed coming in wrong direction, speaking on a mobile holding it between his ear and shoulder knocked me down and spead. Especially two wheeler riders always flout traffic rules. Inspite of RTO and Police making helmet compulesory more than 90% drive without wearing helmets. parking at NO PARKING jones, under age drivers, tripple riders etc are common.

I feel, Police dept should develope a Mobile App through which any person on the road can take a picture of such violation on their mobile and upload it through the app. The informer where the violator of abuse gets convicted should get some incentive. The app should record Date, time and location. As several people have mobiles with cameras and start reporting such traffic abuse it becomes a great deterrant leading drastic reduction in such traffic rule violations. more

The police department collecting fines must use these crores of money towards improvement of pedestrian facilities .Not to use it as welfare fund for their department . more
Helmetless driving and not wearing seat belts are not traffic violations. Whether a vehicle driver wears a helmet or seat belt has not impact for me when I am either a pedestrian or a fellow driver. There is too much focus on these as they are the easy money spinners for the police department. Instead, attention should be shifted to the issues that cause problems to others. Wrong side drivers should be made to "walk" their vehicles to the right side in a round about way. Same case with vehicles on foot paths. Take away their keys and make them walk with their vehicle, since it is a foot path. cell phone drivers should be a given an option of depositing their vehicle or phone for 24 hours. Have mobile courts and fix specific punishments on the spot - not just financial. I like the concept of drunk driver standing at centers with placards and message against drunk driving. Thinking for out of box solutions is very required. Fines should give way to bringing about a change in the road users. But then who is really interested? Neither the police nor the administration is concerned. their only target is monthly collections. more
Traffic violation is very common in Hyderabad. Police people have got a friendly touch with the violators, because they get some unaccounted income from such violators. If the Police are strict and determined, it can be solved, though with some delay. For driving without license, or no registration the vehicle is to be seized. For helmet less drivers, they can make a compulsory sale to them. For cell phone drivers, they can seize the SIM. For other violators, they can remove the air in both the tyres. For six months if the Police struggle sincerely, the people would get habituated. All this is to be done with full determination and warnings. Nothing is impossible, if we have a positive outlook. more
most pedestrians take the heat , lack of zebra crossing , footpaths , two wheelers and cab drivers , bus drivers have to be disciplined , that me first and me fast attitude should be curbed , rash driving should get stringent punishment , handicapped persons , should be employed by traffic enforcement people to watch and report such offender either on road or through cctv cameras , added to woes , the food delivery boys are a nuisance more
