Too much fruits can cause liver damage

This enables it to get into the bloodstream along with other digested molecules and travel to the liver, where some of it is converted into fat. And that is a process which has the potential to cause long-term damage. more

Excellent information from the Wikipedia on fructose: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fructose A relevant study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1994910/ The study essentially finds higher absorption of fructose at consumption levels of 50gm or above. As a reference, there is 35g fructose/100gm of apples, peaches, etc. An average apple weighs 70 to 100gm. Some food sources with high fructose: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/20-foods-with-high-fructose-corn-syrup Another relevant study: http://www.cell.com/cell-metabolism/pdfExtended/S1550-4131(17)30729-5 more
Vinita ji, This has been well known fact. In case the fat enhancement is not happening, does it mean no harm? Yes, I will say no harm. Eat what you can effectively digest and maintain your body in fit and active form without any medicines. more
Precisely my questions too. How much is too much and how trustworthy are these so-called research papers? Till a little while ago it was said that diabetics can have only v limited fruit and definitely bananas, mangoes and grapes were a no-no. But lately I've been reading that no amount of sucrose is harmful for diabetics. more
