In response to Kalavathi's observation, i suggest herbal or plant based medicine has to be given along with allopathic treatment. One will not affect the performance of the other. There is a plant (small tree) called Lakshmi Taru and decoction of its leaves gives good improvement in cancer patients. You can google as lakshmi taru or in you tube. you will get lot of details. I am giving this to my family member who is affected by cancer. In Bangalore one retired agriculture professor is supplying in powder form also. more
What I observed as caregiver for my late sister who died of brain haemmhorage following administration of statins despite six chemotherapies is the treatment of the patient is sporadic and not holistic. There is noone in overall control even if you are consulting a high-end hospital. The surgeon's view is different from the oncologist's and sometimes the tissue is not sent in time for testing at the proper lab. The doctors in hospitals are unable to get proper samples at the time of biopsy and even later on for blood tests since the circulatory system is weakened following surgery, medication, chemotherapy and radiation. Doctors are not conversant with the side-effects of various medicines and the patient is unneccessarily put through lot of pain etc. Many allopathic doctors actively discourage alternative therapy and eschew ayurvedic medication or homoeopathy and are derisive about healing methods, healing chants and yoga. Hospitals are in general unable to give fixed dates for admission for chemotherapy and patient has to be present early morning to wait to be assigned a room. For Radiation therapy one has to go elsewhere. Recently however my friend had a better experience when her mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation were all done under the same roof and she was impressed with the team of doctors, nurses and others who attended on her. Since cancer seems to be afflicting more and more people it is necessary that more Cancer hospitals are commenced offering all treatments under one roof. There should be sharing of information about accessibility of medicines since we were clueless about the chemotherapy medicines to be bought, and each pharmacy was quoting different prices. There are also some altruistic agencies offering palliative care like Jeevodaya in Chennai, catering to various sections of society and not only the poor. L.Kalavathi Retd. If it is Govt. of India selling, why should not it be made freely available every where instead of only through AMRIT Pharmacy? How can people come to know about it to avail the limited benefit? Where is the publicity for this' while we commonly see so many full page ads. in newspapers & electronic media too for un-necessary and less important issues? more
We fail safe moral support to so called cancer patients in dealing with them by Doctors particularly. more
