Thank You TRAI

I find some action has been taken by TRAI and we MUST appreciate it.

At least for Tata Sky, I find that it’s website is giving exactly what was required.

Various packs shown with their prices, which one can choose from. Then there are individual channels with their respective prices, which again one can choose, by ticking the box in front of the name of the channel.

In the end, when all the selection is completed, and one proceeds to next step, it shows all the packages selected (if any), all the individual channels selected, their respective prices, and the total amount one needs to pay.

It also shows the duplication in selection, like some channel is covered under a package, but is also separately selected under individual channels list, cancels the duplication before giving the total amount.

Well done TRAI. Thanks.

Hopefully, others might have also resorted to the same by offering similar selection process at their respective websites, which everyone needs to check and decide. To be on the safe side, one can preserve the print screens of each of the websites showing final selection and pricing. more

Other service providers were quoting their prices against each of the channels since switching on to the new system. I think our main issue is the pricing which has gone up by 200% to 400% on adoption of the new system. more

Mangesh ji you are right. I am also having Tata sky and the selection smooth and user friendly. I don't know if this is due to TRAI or Tata sky themselves, but however things have improved a lot compared to last month. Response from the customer service also has improved. May be others also will come in line shortly. more  
These things can be termed at initial "hickups". more
