Teenage induced Psychiatric problems

Does anyone has experience in treating or getting treated, psychiatric problems induced during teenage years. The symptoms are Irritability, forgetfullness, lack of focus, lethargy, sometimes maniacal behaviour, Cognitive issues (like does not realize what he/she must be doing at this age etc) etc. I am looking for natural and supplement based treatment and other treatments outside main stream prescription medication. Ayurvedic, allopathic, Natural therapy or any other plan that would treat the problem from root cause. Currently taking lot of supplements suggested by Naturopathic Doctor, but progress is not very visible. Supplements which subject is taking are Vitamin D3 (15K-20K IU per day), Omega 3 in high dose, Multitude of other minerals and supplements. I can share specifics on supplements being taken if there is any lead to this message. more

It is quite natural to have physical and mental changes during teenage years, but when the child become aggressive, hurts themselves or others, not focusing, lethargic, maniac behavior, etc. appropriate pscychologic intervention with a child psychologist is needed. The earlier the child gets treatment, recovery will be soon. First the child needs to be evaluated, then can go on with appropriate medication along with holistic approaches like Yoga and Meditation. Never forget appropriate evaluation by a child psychologist is needed to diagnose the exact cause, then only the problem can be resolved from the roots. Otherwise, the supplements, yoga, meditation, spiritual healing, etc. will work only for a short while and when child may show recurrence. Nothing to worry, child will be alright soon. Approach the child with empathy. more
Meditation alone would help tremendously. Start with daily meditation for 40 days (20 to 30 minutes at a stretch per day). This would bring about a noticeable improvement. Inner Child Work and Past Life Regression can also be considered if there is no improvement during these 40 days. more
Suggest a “Raja Yoga” meditation as taught by ‘Brahmakumaris’ would surely not only help in this case but completely transform the person in to new energizing personality. It is necessary to realize that genetic vulnerability, biochemical abnormalities, personality development and negative patterns of thinking prior to following Raja Yoga would still leave a person prone to psychiatric problems / depression. Individuals with psychiatric problems may require much more focus and practice of Raja Yoga as their ability to understand the practices may be temporarily inhibited and motivation reduced during a depressive episode. Please refer to the article titled “Does Raja Yoga meditation bring out physiological and psychological general well being among practitioners of it?” published in International Journal of Collaborative Research on Internal Medicine & Public Health Vol. 4 No. 12 (2012) 2000 (http://internalmedicine.imedpub.com/does-raja-yoga-meditation-bring-out-physiological-andpsychological-general-well-being-among-practitioners-of-it.pdf ) Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University is an international spiritual organization offering a wide range of educational programs through its more than 8500 centers in 140 countries. A practical method of meditation taught here helps individuals understand their inner strengths and values. Rajyoga meditation helps people to look inside to rediscover and reconnect with their original spiritual essence. Please visit a “Brahmakumaris Center” near your residence and understand the moralities of “Raja Yoga Mediation”. In cas eof difficulty, pl. call me at 09891099351. At teenage a child requires support and confidence. Confidence comes only with proper knowledge and this knowledge should remain in memory and should be applied with calm and concentrated mind. In such situation first take advice of counselling centre and Psychiatrist. I suggest to give him Shankhpushi syrup (containing Shankhpushpi and Brahmi). This will help him. Dr.Pulastya Vora more
