Tax to keep pet dogs

Tax has been imposed on people with pet dogs in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Those who keep dogs in their house will have to pay a tax of Rs 690 to the municipal corporation in a year. Those who do not pay the tax will be fined Rs 5,000.

Why only Prayagraj, why not all UP. Well why not all over India? more

What is the logic for taxing pets? Are any facilities provided for the pets anywhere? Today one cannot walk one's pet in peace, the strays get after the moment one steps out of the house. more

The management of stray dogs is responsibility of respective municipality, therefore for each stray dong, the municipality should pay the tax to residents. more

The tax for pet dog should be implemented all over UP and higher amounts should be formulated depending upon the city population. more

Need to make a compulsory law for registration of dog and annual fee . Most of the dog owners are capable to pay as they spend heavily on dogs. more

Good idea. But what about the stray dogs. The rest of the residents should pay tax at the same rates if thete are stray dogs in their colony or sector. more
