Tata Sky DTH Pathetic Service - Think before you sign up or upgrade for Tata Sky

TV was black out for couple of weeks due to no signal issue from Tata Sky. Customer service is also not available and Tata Sky is least bother about resolving customer woos. After calling many times and getting assurance from them service technician will visit but all went in vein. When we called service technician they are simply disconnecting phone.
Its miserable service from Tata Sky and turned a deaf ear to customer complaints. We had no option but to shell out money to get connection from other DTH service provider
I have lodged complaint with regional Tata Sky nodal officer but they are not agreeing to refund subscription fees. Tata Sky being largest DTH customer base in India looks like they are simply ignoring millions of impacted customer absolutely due to their fault in upgrading digital service & channel.
Can anyone please share if I can approach consumer court to protect consumer rights and penalizing Tata Sky for breaching SLA more

One of my friend staying in Gurgaon too had reported similar type of signal issues with tata sky... even with little clouds there is no reception and any number of technician visit is unfruitful.... I have never faced signal issues with airtel, even in very bad weather... just move over to other service provider... they are never going to give you back your money... few of my relatives have been singing songs of tatasky now I have good matter against them... :-) more  
I fully agree with above comments and suggest don't opt Tata Sky on the basis of similar experience as above I had. more  
Same is the case with Tata docomo.. Poor after sales service. . Setting with retailer outside gallery for recharge. .iIndians most respectable family. more  
I think the regulator should introduce the cell number type portability, so that the customer, using the same DTH set, can migrate to any service. May be a universal DTH unit will be the way out. more  
Last 6 years I am getting good service from Tata sky. I am paying monthly fee on line. more
