Stubble burning has started

Yesterday Delhi AQI was 24, Ghaziabad's AQI stood at 233, Faridabad at 262 and Noida at 243, according to the Central Pollution Control Board's website.

The primary cause of the deterioration in air is thought to be stubble burning in fields in neighbouring Punjab and Haryana. Winds bearing particulate matter and other pollutants from the stubble burning have been heading towards the capital.

What is the Central and State Govts of Delhi Haryana UP and Punjab doing to ensure stubble burning is minimised and other measures are in place (no old diesel commercial vehicles through Delhi, no garbage burning, minimum crackers, mechanised cleaning, no construction and hot mix plants) more

Technical experts to suggest alternative usage stubble instead of burning. more
Well, the Punjab govt has announced that farmers burning stubble will be prosecuted. But that is not a solution to the problem of what to do with the millions of tonnes of stubble. A viable solution will be one which doesn't cost either the farmer or the Govt heavily to but uses the stubble in a economic way. Like using it in products in the way suggested by Mr Saifee or as suggested by Mr Nitin Gadkari viz, to manufacture ethanol etc. In the meantime another year has passed and we face the pollution problem again..... Its high time urgent action is taken to actually implement solutions & sustained pressure has to be kept up on the Govts concerned. We should not just moan, groan, curse for a few days & then forget about it till October next year. more
Pollution is very serious topic, for which everybody has to take suitable step.Stubble can be used in manufacturing fiber boards/MDF board. It is also used in packing glass and other breakable items. It must be managed properly. I am also agree to the advise to make manure . more
Rightly mentioned... NGT has to play a exemplary role to curb it strictly more
Every body should take initiative This issue is spread all over india more
