Strike work - Is it the right way or not

* Strike work / road roko for everything becomes part of the day. When people approach any authority for genuine requirement is not looked at appropriately.
*But some instigated agitation which is causing inconvenience to the public and local politicians are immediately responded by police, local authorities. It is the the Government as on to day look at the issues to resolve immediately. Minor issues, like water, bus service etc, which call for road roko by villagers can be easily resolved.
*The workers unions are fighting against all Governments, that Govt is against the workers. Let us presume they are right. What way unions are forthcoming to set right the workers issues.Very rarely.
* Any progress or change will be with some pain only. It is the responsibility of Government and people to work together to reduce the pain while implementing.
* Canany unions say to their members, that they should come in time to office in time and don't spent, half the time at the canteens and chit chatting, and saying this is not my work. In my opinion no unions says that. They are not the only one to blame. Any negotiation, management or Government shall include the responsibility of unions on behalf of workers.
*Like politician looking for the vote bank, unions also look at the power of the union leaders position.
*Contract labours role clarity to be there. They are being taken for doing domestic works for the officers. It is happening in most PSU.
* What is the responsibility of the PSU and its employees. Only successful PSU's are shown as examples. No unions (officers or workers)comes out with the fact why their PSU has failed, except blaming the Government policies.
* When employees / unions say "work to rule" they mean no work. If everyone work to rule, the output may be tremendous. In such cases the authorities to look at their issues and resolve.
* Let us introspect
Let me do my job
As an officer / Executive, let me play the role of enabler and support employees to perform.
As a Unions we will take care of the employees rights and ensure they discharge their responsibilities.
As a Government we will look into the issue prospectively, without looking at vote bank only.
* Auto / Taxi services are striking work against the possible new law. One of the driver says they are against, because action will be taken against the drunken driving, disobeying the road rules, and over charging. Itis in their mind that all the above are their fundamental rights,
* When talk about price rise,no auto is willing to charge as per meters. When fuel price increase, they increase the auto fare, but they don't reduce when fuel price is lowered.
* Everyone wants pay hike, but they don't want to pay more for the services.
* Government takes care of the bureaucrats financially well, because they are running Government.
* It shall be a joint effort commitment to overcome in the to prosper the countries progress more

Along with West Bengal, Kerala is also another example. more
Strikes brought W. Bengal down from one of the best states to one of the worst. We should find better ways to solve problems, conflicts & grievances more
There are also many instances of factories being closed down due to strikes instigated by Trade Unions for political motive. more
Banning of Trade Union is impossible because every political party has its own Trade Union. more
1. You both are really correct . Ban of Strikes and protests shall not be practiced unless on Emurgency requirements. 2. Strikes and protests without opting the legitimate Court of law ; or, the legitimate Commissioners of Labour both State or Central SHALL BE BANNED FORTHWITH AND THIS IS ONLY THROUGH THE HIGH COURTS OR, THE SUPREME COURT. There fore, none will care and hence this pathetic situation to manufacturing industry since 1992 or so. 3. Since the Trade Unions had affiliated to political Party Unions and run against the interest of Industrial Sustainity and even Trade Union spirits lost and set to mala fied goals, Sri V . V. GIRI , A TRADE UNIONIST QUIT OFF HIMSELF . HE IS OUR EX-PRESIDENT OF INDIA . THIS ITSELF PROOVES THE FACT THAT the real or purposeful Trade Unionism was then itself lost i.e., 4 DECADES BACK . 4. To set one or two examples ; In Vizag Port Trust , the labour who went on strike for about 58 days , later Stabbed their Trade union Leader who instigated & even inspired even after 40 days ; when ultimately was proved that the Strike is against the Rules and even the labour were not at all ignored or paid less that other port Trusts when compared. In a place near by Vijayawada , the Trade Union General Secretary ultimately requested the Management to consider any perks though considering some increase in the Salary Structure . This was after 53 days Strike and before the District labour Commissioner who was assigned specially this Case by the govt. authorities . 5. There are many like this and Sri jayaKrishnan is correct that there was the system of Bribing which is in deed Corruption even in the issue of the innocent Hard Working Workers which is in deed so . so . 6. I also remember that there issues , the Assistant Labour Commissioners were beaten by the Trade unions before 1985 and resultantly ; number of investors and Entrepreneurs legged out from industrial activities to Business houses. 7. These are all the reasons for the real down fall of Indian Industrial development resulting to a stoppage from and after 1990 . THE STATISTICS WILL PROVE ALL THE ABOVE . more
