Stop Chinese manjha for kite flying

India, like every year, this season during the month of August, when people fly kites, around our Independence Day, as a celebratory festivity too - Very good celebration festivity. Manjha straying as trailing, remains fallen in trees, even after the kite flying. Thereafter, after a month, when migratory birds from distant countries migrate flying to India, as their annual escape from severe winters in their respective country to come here, especially Delhi, having so many green arborial cover, where they perch themselves. However, many or any flying creature gets potentially entangled by the Manjha, also often getting slit fatally. For our ecosystem within which there is a symbiotic relationship between the tree and the bird, this can be a hugely detrimental. What we save, ultimately saves us. Birds numbering over a 100 have been injured, mostly lethally. Locally too the most affected remain birds. Ban Chinese Manjha. more

What is this talk about ban and even the court summoning the Police despite knowing the issue. Our country excels in charade. Just visit any retailer selling this manjha, find the distributor & then the importer and subsequently the customs official who took money to let it in. It is the customs who allow this. The Police etc can only act if there is an incident. more
Ban, in fact all, including domestically made powdered glass coating, stuck together using rice glue or tree resins to the pure cotton thread produced manjha. Only difference being that Chinese use synthetic fibres that are non-biodegradable! Never will such a kite strung upon such strings be easily cut. This is also unsporting. Bystanders too, apart from kiterunners, who the drifting manjha grazes, depending upon the string tautness, may get cut. more
Why not all? more
