State of Aviation/Airlines in India - Key Issues
Dear Friends,
Airlines grievances was taken up as a subject in the smaller Consumer Affairs circle and based on the response, we are led to believe that the aviation/airline industry really needs improvements and reforms.
With this post, I request all of you to list Issues you have experienced when it comes Airlines/Aviation Industry in India.
We will follow this with a post on Root Causes and Solutions. The objective would be to put together a collective citizen whitepaper that we can share with PMO, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Finance, Commerce, Consumer Affairs and any others associated to drive some action that will improve the state of things.

R/sir, with reference to the above subject I wish to mention that after 67 years of freedom when we are talking of building shauchalaya at every home in villages, we should also focus on medium cities like NASHIK where, in some Muncipal Corporation wards now also small childrens are seating on roads for toilet. The wards are having plenty of toilets, but the mentality of people is not yet changed, therefore they are allowing their childrens to sit for toilet on road. Such areas must be notified,and social awareness programme should be arranged to educate the people with the help of Corporator or NGOs. Last but not least,such whole area should be punished,if required, by disconnecting water supply or electricity to maintain "SWACHHA BHARAT" " JAY HIND " THANKS & REGARDS. Airlines should be business of specialized business houses and Govt. should relinquish control of AI/IA and divest its shares to any privately owned which can run it profitably and efficiently. AI/IA being used by Govt. as their own airlines, subsidies being doled out to Govt. officials or Govt. organizations being asked to use AI/IA are some things which has badly hurt the effectiveness and profitability of IA/AI. Hence, firstly it should be dis-invested by govt. Further, Airports and its functioning should be upgraded to World Class level as service quality should be improved. Even though, airport infrastructure is improving all over the country, the thrust should be on commercially running all such infrastructure in a better manner and profitability. more
