Mr. Yousuf is so right. Fssai or BIS must form mandatory standards for meat shops.
Make it very basic so it is low cost. As long as the meat and all acitivities are hidden from
Public view it should work and everyone from
Jaipur to Muzaffarpur and from
Srinagar to madurai can implement.

I am extremely doubtful about Sri Anil Chandok's assertion regarding the existence of standards for meat shops to be compulsorily adhered. Regarding the standards, I have no knowledge but if they do exist, they are either lax or being disregarded by Municipal Authorities across the nation. I have several times witnessed with distaste/ disgust the meat Bazar of Khadki market & Cantonment market at Pune. Perhaps, Municipal Administrations must be made accountable for the hygienic sale of all items, especially food. more

FSSAI has standards for meat shops and in fact for every kind of food business. All shops must apply for registration with FSSAI to operate a meat or slaughter shop and must follow all the guidelines as provided by FSSAI. more
