I have had experiences where the product was already expired on the day i bought it. the next time also it was the same sob story but when approached, the management made it look like 'oh! now how did we miss that?' and changed my item. had i not noticed it then i would have got the expired one. one such example is Olive Street store in DDA Market, Neeti bagh, New Delhi - 49; they sold me Amul milk and dabur lemoneez after the expiry dates; when confronted they changed the un-opened packs but if i had not noticed then i would have been fleeced.
are there any laws against selling expired products? and if so, how can one prove that the product bought from the shop is the same in question? [this is easy in case of medicines since they put the batch number and expiry date on the bill always; but grocery items have no such safeguard. most stores don't scan the product bar-code and the ones that do do not put any details of the product on the bill]. more
