Severe brain damage possible even with mild covid 19 symptoms

According to British neurologists, COVID-19 can cause serious damage to the brain and central nervous system. Such damage can lead to psychosis, paralysis and strokes, which are often detected in their late stages.

There are numerous signs that the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 not only attacks the lungs and respiratory tract, but also other organs on a massive scale. It can severely affect the heart, vessels, nerves, kidneys, and skin.
British neurologists have now published shocking details in the journal "Brain," which suggests SARS-CoV-2 can cause severe brain damage — even in patients with mild symptoms or those in recovery. Often this damage is detected very late or not at all.

Neurologists at the University College London (UCL) diagnosed acute demyelinating encephalomyelitis (ADEM) in more than 40 British COVID-19 patients. This inflammatory disease causes a degenerative destruction of the central nervous system, affecting the myelin sheaths of the nerves in the brain and spinal cord.

Different degrees of damage
Of the patients examined, 12 suffered from inflammation of the central nervous system, 10 from a transient encephalopathy (brain disease) with delirium or psychosis, eight from strokes, and a further eight from problems of the peripheral nerves, mostly with the diagnosis of Guillain-Barré syndrome. This is an immune reaction that attacks the nerves and causes paralysis and is fatal in 5% of cases. A 59-year-old woman died of the complication.
Scientists have never before seen another virus attack the brain in the same way COVID-19 does, points out Dr. Michael Zandi. He is a lead author of the study, as well as a consultant at UCL Hospitals. What is unusual is the severe brain damage even in patients with mild symptoms.
Damage often goes unrecognized
The cases now published confirm fears that COVID-19 is causing long-term health problems in some patients. Many patients remain breathless and tired long after their recovery. Other recovering patients suffer from numbness, weakness, and memory problems.

The post has warned the readers with information and possibility . Thanks SGji.

These patients may have been with comorbidities that makes way for myaline sheath disintegration . There is a defence mechanism in place to prevent virus bacteria into the brain and Spinal chord . But patients with comorbidity offer an ideal situation like the reported to the virus and bacteria .

Such incidents have happened to othe infections also ,like TB .

We need to take care rather than getting scared , this virus itself is created to make people sick by brain

If anyone is getting tested as positive he or she reacted in a way that a death warrant is given to him her , there is need to make ourselves understand that this is not much harmful in India ...

So anyone if you get positive take it easy and just make yourself homecorntine take some medicicine doctor will advice you I am not sharing it from any book I was tested positive and I was not able to move for approx 45 minutes but I make myself understand that I was feeling good till I saw my report as positive what changed in 10 minutes only I saw report which I was not aware about

It is true - take care and follow precautions, but do not panic: the effects are many shades more than what a cold would be caused by Corona viruses almost every year, but the body mechanisms respond very similarly as they do for any Corona challenge. Keeping morale high and being determined to go through the effects to rise above these boosts immunity. Fear and negative thoughts do interfere with immunity mechanisms. Most people in their youth will come out with minor effects. Those of us who are elderly, or debilitated, or already challenged with chronic illnesses or conditions need to be extra careful - actually should work hard not to get exposed: those living with us or near us can assist the compromised greatly by taking sane precautions themselves to help the weak.
It is all doable.
The virus - be it colds Corona or Sars2 Corona: cannot exist in a viable form outside the human body. That's why the mask, the distancing, the hand washes, the sanitizers - if it cannot find another host, it gets disintegrated!! With strong alcohol, it destructs within short time, soap water will disintegrate the fat content and destroy it!!! If a true and strict "NAKABANDI" is done by entire population theoretically we can eliminate the virus in 14 days: that's why the magic lock-down periods!!!
It is because our brethren - both the illiterate and the literate and even some educated misused the lifting of restrictions, we have seen the pandemic becoming stronger rather than ending.

In a previous post is the only Mantra that can eliminate the rogue virus entity.

Follow the Mantra and live long and healthy lives!!! more
Mr. Raina , your post was not only a marale booster , but also an immune booster for the readers . more
I tend to agree. Information is good but it should be in right perspective. If someone gets it, if that person survives, he will after reading this will be in fear all his life as to when its going to happen and he has no control over it. Best result from this could be adopt protective measures! Otherwise a lot of fear psychosis. more
We need to be prepared and aware more
Sneha Ji,
The report as mentioned by you is reporting of 40 such patients having been found to have brain damage. You have not mentioned that theses 40 patients are out of how many total cases.

even in the case of previous viruses which have swept through our country multiple organ damage had been noticed. The percentage of such occurrence should be the base of any report otherwise it is of no use except for creating unnecessary fear amongst the public.

I would like to request that you should find reports which are encouraging and give positivity to the already negative atmosphere in the world. more
