Artificials sweeteners increase risk of stroke

Artificial sweeteners contain sucralose and aspartame, a white odourless powder 200 times sweeter than sugar. While they don't have any calories, artificial sweeteners have been found to be harmful to health. All low or no sugar sodas have this.

A study by French researchers has established that artificial sweeteners increase the risk of heart problems. As part of a study, they tracked 103,000 adults for nine years and found that people who consumed calorie-free sweeteners every day had a nine per cent higher risk of heart disease.

The chances of suffering a stroke rose for those who ate or drank aspartame, an ingredient used in low-sugar fizzy drinks, and they were found to be 23 per cent more likely to have a stroke.

Just avoid diet coke coke zero, dier pepsi pepsei zero and all such drinks more

Artifical sweeteners on a regular basis are not good for health as they could casuse cancer and other health problems. The diabetics should preferably avoid sweets on a regular basis and could eat sweets with artifical swweteners occasionaly. more
Then what should diabetics drink? more
Thanks for information. I thought the sugar free served to Diabetics is for conservation of health. If they are several times sweeter than Sugar, proportionately lesser quantity will be used. This should be true of diet coke & similar artificially sweetened drinks. Unless the use of specific sweeteners is banned by concerned authorities which they will naturally do as they are custodians of public health, please tell us why this resource is scare mongering. more
