Routine and Diet Query

My son and daughter in law have a new routine now and I'd like feedback from you all if its healthy.

they have breakfast at 7 am, eat salad in office cafeteria at 11, heavy lunch at 4 and at 7:30 pm after coming home take another salad and may be a fruit.

Basically both are skipping a meal and carbohydrates for dinner. Are there any issues with such a routine. If anyone has expertise or experience on this, do share

Having plain salad without any accompaniment like rice or chapathi is not advised as it affects the kidneys detrimentally in the long run. Also having breakfast at 7AM and lunch at 4 pm may lead to gastric ulcer as the stomach is empty in four hours. Is the salad cooked or uncooked? Sometimes cooked macaroni is also added to a vegetable salad which may take the place of rice or chapathi, but it is made of maida. This diet plan is unsuitable for diabetics or for pregnant women. Your son and daughter-in-law could follow Shri C. Malhan's advice. L.Kalavathi Retd. Bank Official Chennai, Tamilnadu, India 1st June, 2017 more
Continued from my previous comment: If however they re taking some sprouts with salad it may continue and weight should be checked periodically. more
It looks that they are taking a lunch which gives them more than 1000 calories which is not right. Any single meal of more than 800 cals should be avoided. They may change to a lunch at 3 pm and a light dinner at about 8 PM. more
Wait and watch for a few weeks and then get the tests done for diabetes, cholesterol, kidney function and most important, the body weight more
