Ridiculous move by this consumer affairs dept and ppl paying

Onion prices are 72 and it is ridiculous that the consumer affairs dept took onions out of the essential commodities act. Arent certain people benefitting from this clearly?

LocalCircles you did this survey when people were paying 25 now they are paying 70-80.

Unfortunately the Government in Maharashtra is a Non-BJP Government so it is not likely to get any firm support besides lip-service of all possible help. Same is the case with other non-BJP ruled states too. We have seen in Delhi how farmers from Tamil Nadu came and camped to protest at Jantar Mantar and the PM (unfortunately) did not deem fit to even give them an audience. Taking this as a case you can see how Hollow the promises for MSP and Farmer oriented approach that this party makes. Not just Onions..even the common vegetable Potato is now sailing at Rs.25/30/40. Who is responsible? more
Instead of depressed sale by farmers due to excess production, the Govt. should allow storage by private parties and procure the stock at MSP every year. There should be 2 months stock at the disposal of the Govt. In case of any clamity, the Govt should take action to import the commodity in time to avoid sharp rise in the prices. more
Nexus betn the farm produce Lords and the officials will continue to earn extra money, a part of it will go the political party controlling the system. more
I feel the same way as Mr. srinivasa Murty, apparently an eminent person in trade and Industry feels. The problem with Onion sellers is that they are highly politicized and organised. They create ruckus when GOI bans exports and loot when exports are allowed. more
On arrival of new crops of onions/potatoes prices come down within a week. Whereas, the profiteers continue to sell at the same prices for a month. The sufferers are farmers and consumers. States/UTs MC should facilitate direct selling platform to fruit and vegetable farmers and allow them to sell directly to the consmers more
STCs to initiate monitoring Markets enabling Direct Sales of Farm Produces at Market Points .
Village Cooperative Societies must take place in Farming AS WELL AS MARKETING more
