Reward for Profiteering Reporters

Can the NAA please consider some kind of reward for people who bring cases of profiteering to light? Unless its a major case like car or electronics or property, there is little incentive for consumers to report profiteering.

I request NAA to consider a reward program where for every case of profiteering reported, the reporter say gets INR 1000. This will really help and lead to people receiving benefits of GST cuts much faster. more

1) Why feed up in the form of intelligence is needed – Govt. cannot afford to have huge number of staff to detect crimes. Intelligence Public should work as eyes and ears of Govt. machinery. 2) Incentive in the form of rewards:- Since Intelligence Public taking part in detection of crime and do the duties of enforcement officer ,without any salary, they are eligible for, rewards. 3) Rewards scheme prior to GST regime:- 20% Rewards to informant was being paid to the informants depending on veracity of the information. AND name of the informants was being kept secret /confidential forever. Till date such a scheme is continued by Indian Customs Department working under same CBEC, Finance Ministry. 4) Government (Central and state) should introduce such scheme for GST cases also. As a result Govt. will get more revenue and tax evasion will be reduced. Vide publicity should be given to such scheme after introduction. more
I don't agree with your view point. Why should a person bringing to light such irregularities and instances of corruptions and any anti-social & anti-people activities should expect for a reward? If the government of the country wants at its own to introduce such a scheme, that could be tenable but an individual being vigilant on such anti-society activities should not look or expect for any kind of recognition and/or reward from any quarters including the government. Social works should be a sort of charity and priceless! more
