People staying in flats or rented house will have testing time during home isolation. more
Observing home quarantine is really a task, because people who live in cities have limited movement space. Bit, every one prefer home quarantine as health authorities get a patient admitted to a government hospital or at a covid center. As admission in private hospitals are pretty expensive and, whatever affluent one may be, money will be drained like water. Reason is no cap on covid treatement at private hospitals. Now Doctors advise home quarantine for sympathetic people, than getting admitted to hospitals. Every one should maintain good oxygen level, termeric, salt hot water gargling and steam inhalation would keep healthy. Drafting norms are the required steps, but, adhering the norms in major cities are cumbersome due to space crunch. more
Well written Mr. Padmanabhan. Drafting norms is simple I believe. In home isolation one needs a relative/person to look after the needs of the isolated person. Without such a person the task will be very difficult. more
Very easy to give guidelines. The ones who have given them have not experienced home isolation nor taken inputs from the common citizen who has undergone isolation. Reading them itself will make one tired. Myself and my daughter have experienced home isolation in our 2 bedroom flat (one attached and one common bathroom), the isolation being extremely well managed by my wife. My wife moved to the living room. My 2 cents worth: - isolate on first symptoms - follow your doctor's advice (if you have a regular doctor). Don't override with your relative's or friend's prescription - if possible and reqd, , arrange for home tests. - keep isolated doors closed. Keep windows open. Don't use ac.Provide them with washing material to clean vessels and room. Leave all material for them at door and same with them. A knock on the door to let them know. Totally contactless . - order online, essentials and groceries. - make a whatsapp group for communication. - after the isolation period, take a few days to move to the new normal, instead of from day 1. - last, but not the least, be calm, don't panic, be calm and positive and support each other. - last, but not the least, be calm, communicative , have faith and support each other. more
