Review the Indian Constitution.

In the last 60+ years the various govts have made over 400 amendments to the constitution for their own benefit. The constitution is no longer for the people of India but a tool used by Political parties to advance their own private agendas.

It is time we relooked at the constitution and made it relevant to the country in the 21st century. Times have changed and needs of the country have changed.

Let us rewrite the constitution and remove all the ambiguous and irrelevant amendments that are destroying the very fabric of this country.

For e.g. is the Rajya Sabha a relevant body in today's times. The institution was created to have a body of intelligent, wise and learned Indians to guide the Lok Sabha. We today have the likes of Hema Malini and Dharmendra and politicians who have criminal charges on them and most of them with little or no education. They act like hooligans in the house and have no business deciding the fate of this nation.
- How do these people add value to our country?
- What valuable input can they provide to support the Lok Sabha?
- They are a burden on the tax payer. Is there any study or report to show how much value they add to this country vs the amount we pay them?

Time to make some drastic changes to this nation if we want to leave a progressive and empowered country for our children. more

Agree. High time we did away with Rajya Sabha and the Post of President..why should a person, a blind follower of the corrupt Congress party live like a king..one who hasn't fought elections and been elected by the peoples' mandate...its ridiculous...also a cap needs to be put on number of parties and their background..based on the words and actions of parties like AAP/BSP/SP/NC/NCP/DMK etc looks like they are funded and run by anti nationals...who checks whether they are really Indian in mindset or not..the EC is just toothless..also its pathetic that so much noise against a comment against a corrupt politician from BSP, what about how much money they have looted of the citizens and Dalits...we need to have online courts to quickly settle cases and not just keep postponing/adjourning..Criminals should be put in the lock up to prevent them from coming to positions of power...while the helpless citizens on whom the Constitution has been thrust helplessly watch on... more

Hello ! Anita Madamjee , You titled your post for Constitution but the core part of it highlighted the below Equation . " Rajya Sabha + Loksabha = Valuelessness " . To begin with how to bring about a desirable change aspired by you , I have an idea to change the nomenclature of both the Sabhas , firstly . The renaming should be as follows . Loksabha ----------->>>> Jansabha Rajyasabha ---------->>> Rashtra sabha I opine that Jansabha is peoples' Reps . assembling from all over the Country while the Rashtra sabha is only for assembling of a specific State's Reps along with the Governor of the same State besides the Reps. of the Jansabha of that State to debate , discuss and decide on what is good or what is bad for their specific State or Rashtra . क्या भारत का सिस्टम आम जनता को धोखा देता है ...? आप खुद देखिये.... 1- नेता चाहे तो दो सीट से एक साथ चुनाव लड़ सकता है ! लेकिन.... आप दो जगहों पर वोट नहीं डाल सकते, 2-आप जेल मे बंद हो तो वोट नहीं डाल सकते… लेकिन नेता जेल मे रहते हुए चुनाव लड सकता है. 3-आप कभी जेल गये थे, तो अब आपको जिंदगी भर कोई सरकारी नौकरी नहीं मिलेगी, लेकिन…… नेता चाहे जितनी बार भी हत्या या बलात्कार के मामले में जेल गया हो, फिर भी वो प्रधानमंत्री या राष्ट्रपति जो चाहे बन सकता है, 4-बैंक की मामूली नौकरी पाने के लिये आपका ग्रेजुएट होना जरूरी है.. लेकिन, नेता अंगूठा छाप हो तो भी भारत का फायनेन्स मिनिस्टर बन सकता है. 5-आपको सेना में एक मामूली सिपाही की नौकरी पाने के लिये डिग्री के साथ 10 किलोमीटेर दौड़ कर भी दिखाना होगा, लेकिन.... नेता यदि अनपढ़-गंवार और लूला-लंगड़ा है तो भी वह आर्मी, नेवी और ऐयर फोर्स का चीफ यानि डिफेन्स मिनिस्टर बन सकता है और जिसके पूरे खानदान में आज तक कोई स्कूल नहीं गया.. वो नेता देश का शिक्षामंत्री बन सकता है और जिस नेता पर हजारों केस चल रहे हों.. वो नेता पुलिस डिपार्टमेंट का चीफ यानि कि गृह मंत्री बन सकता है. यदि आपको लगता है की इस सिस्टम को बदल देना चाहिये.. नेता और जनता, दोनो के लिये एक ही कानून होना चाहिये.. तो इस संदेश को फार्वड करके देश में जागरुकता लाने में अपना सहयोग दें. more
