Restricting use of newspaper for food packaging

It is very good news to hear about FSSAI and its endeavours to educate people. While restricting use of newspaper for food packaging is very inevitable, educating the people about alternate means and making cheap alternate packing material available are important. Pl do necessary research and start educating the people.
Would it not be worthwhile inventing safe packing material having the benefits of plastic & tissue paper or aluminium foils without ill effects and making them available at an economic cost? FSSAI may involve Research Institutions/IIT, etc. and proceed. more

Dear Samuel Peranikkal, Yes its very good action to implement for food safety, making the people to educate means we have to take our own measures like tell the food vendors not to pack any kind of food material in any kind what they (FSSAI) prescribed, then only the people get educated. other wise no use of taking this kind of action. Let us hope for bringing change in the people. *Thank You,* *With Best Regards,* *VIJAY* *M.Sc;LL.M.* *Meteorologist( Legal)* *IMD Hq, New Delhi.110003.* On 30 January 2017 at 17:15, Samuel Peranikkal wrote: > more
Packing food items in Newspapers is safer than polythene bags. We should encourage packing in old Newpapers as it is eco-friendly and cost effective. more
We do have plenty of rules and directives which are rarely implemented and compliance ensured. Use of news papers in packaging food items is still continued without any restrictions and punitive action against those floating the laws and putting peoples' lives in danger. more
