Restaurant Service Charge

Why are the restaurant associations showing high handedness on service charge issue. Forcing service charge on consumer is a terrible thing. Shame on the restaurants who are following such non friendly guidelines. Many of them are large chains. Can the local circles derive a new mechanism for people to rate restaurant experience and may be build a list of all major restaurant chains atleast that are forcing service charges on consumer. more

I carry a print copy of govt of india letter on this issue and show it to the restaurant if they include service charges in the bill. I also make it clear that I will add tip if the service is good. In case the restaurant refuses, we just don't pay. It works though appears little difficult initially. You must carry copy of the letter. more
