Restaurant Service Charge: Recent Experiences

With this post we would like to seek your latest experiences in regards to restaurant service charge in the last few months.
As a reference, Please find attached the Restaurant Service Charge awareness audio clip. Also below is the link to the Service Charge guidelines

It is suggested that you save the guidelines and if possible the audio in your phone and if you do not wish to pay forced service charge, the same can be displayed.

most of high end eateries still continue to levy service charges... it should be legally stopped and not made waive when object... more  
In recent past, I had two occasions wherein the Shizusan restaurant in Phoenix Mall, Pune & a 4-star hotel in Hyderabad levied Service Charge @ 10% of the food billed amount. When pointed out, the restaurant manager showed me a paper pasted on the entrance door suggesting applicable 10% Service Charge along with 100% satisfaction on food served. At the Lemon Tree hotel in Madhapur of Hyderabad, the cashier pointed out that the Service Charge added is optional. However, they had already added the amount of service charge indicated on the bills. In both cases, I found that the manager and/or cashier was aware that the SC is not to be charged as per guidelines issued by the Court/Govt. I had paid the bills including the wrongfully charged service charge, using my Credit Card. Compliance is lacking on the floor level. more  
Mainland China in Church street Bangalore still charges service charge of 7.5% and seeks no consent. An arrogant restaurant. The same goes for Chillis at Orion Mall Rajajinagar. more  
We should add one more point regarding not giving the bills even for the stay in the hotels during the peak season for uttarakhand chaar dhaam yatra.even after repeated requesta no any hotel is giving the bills.On the highways of uttarakhand all restauranrs are charging more than MRP for all items cold drinks or biscuits etc.What is the experience may be given please.I have gone through bitter experience in the first week of june 2019. more
