RESERVATIONS IN JOBS AND EDUCATION IN INDIA

More than 68 year have gone since the Independence but at that time certain Immediate short term corrective measure to maintain equity in the society enshrined by the then ‘Constitutional and Political Pundits’ have not been reviewed and are not corrected to suit the present day requirements of Socio-economic realities in India. Now most of the top players in the Political spectrum see this RESERVATIONS IN JOBS AND EDUCATION IN INDIA – A POLITICAL TOOL RATHER THAN A SOCIAL REMEDY.

It is high time to set up an Expert Constitutional Committee to review and regulate the Reservation system prevailing in India to suit the present day Socio-economic realities keeping in view the fundamental principles of our Constitution such as Equity, Justice and Fraternity.

Instead of claims and counter claims for Reservations for each community/caste, it is high time that all Citizens unitedly call for measures for gradual retard of all sorts of Reservations as the State cannot prosper well with this costly silence or inaction w.r.t continuation of Reservations in India in the present form. more

If we think of about continuation of Reservations in India like this, the following points will crop up in any rational thinking persons’ mind: What makes the Government to continue the short term corrective measures without any proper review and rationale for 68years except here and there some tinkering? For whose benefit and at what cost to the States prosperity Whether this continuation has achieved the objective for which they are meant. Is there any proper statistics about how much percentage of down trodden have benefited and how many are left out and what is the contribution made by those who have already benefited by these reservations to their community and what is their share of contribution to National wealth in all these 68 years. A person already benefited by these reservations how long he or his family is going to benefit. Are there any statistics that a person since Independence whether he himself or his family members, how much are benefited. What about other deprived population in this country what measures, the Government has take all these 68 years for their cause. Caste based reservation system has achieved very little for the rural poor It has failed because • It has not improved dropout rates • It has not improved income share of poor people • It has not performed in terms of quality of education • It is not inclusive of all the poor sections of society (poor upper castes are left out) • It is based on fixed percentages creating selection bubbles ie, there is no incentive to perform for those with reservation and there is no motivation for those without reservation as competition is higher I solicit this circle to search for answers to these issues and suggest this Dynamic Government to take corrective measures at least in their regime. more
If we , of all States , think and share only in these such lines expressing inability or of impossible nature ; There will be none to ;;; address Article 15 and 45 ;; 16 and 46 ;; 39 and 47 ;; and , the 19 Specifically incorporated in the Constitution to address the ;; provisions for adequate lively-hood ;; provision of Free Elementary Education irrespective of Religion , Caste , Sect , Section , Race , Class and , the Creed ;; provision of Free and aided Education to those " Economically Backward Classes " ;;;;;;; Minimum Healthcare & Medicine ;; . Our participation through these localcircles.com is really a boon from Indian Democratic integrity/ National spirit if not alone from the Almighty or the Supreme Natural Power AND HENCE , WE HAVE TO ENCASH THIS OPPORTUNITY FOR THE BETTER USE AND CARRY OF CONSTITUTIONAL BENEFITS EVEN THROUGH 32. more
Yes, I fully agree, but the present day political top brass are only interested in how to capture the reins and how to hold it. Unless and until, the Citizens awake, and bend the Rulers for taking strong measures to correct this costly legacy which makes the Citizens into different classes. more
The issue of Reservations for JOBS to represent in the Government & Legislature IS DIFFERENT FROM ADDRESSING THESE CASTS FOR EDUCATIONAL FEE ; BENEFITS OF EDUCATION ; FOOD AID ; RESIDENTIAL AIDS ; RESEARCH AIDS ; ETC ., The State and States are thus clubbing the Jobs & other Economical Benefits also UNDER CASTE BASED .They are not confining the Reservations of Jobs & participation in Legislatures to Scheduled Casts and Scheduled Tribes specifically dealt with separate Articles. THIS IS THE REAL HITCH & LAPSE OF JUSTICE . EXCEPT JOBS OF GOVT. & SHARE OF LEGISLATURE THE OTHER ECONOMICAL BENEFITS SHALL BE ADDRESSED TO ALL THE " ECONOMICALLY BACKWARD CLASSES ". AND NOT SCHEDULED CASTS & TRIBES ALONE . more
Thnk you Sri Raghonadh Dutt . Discussing and analysing the clauses set in the articles , The Supreme Court had different verdicts pertinent to the merits and facts of the proposals of various States . As you are also aware , the State and the States were given with the directives that they can at any time identify any class of people that are Backward in the Society . This itself authorises the State and States to address for the adequate livelihood under 19 . The perfect version other than the Economically Backward is still to be finalized by the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court since under the differences of applications and qualifications , the Equal opportunity , Equality of adequate lively-hood and , Equality before law is lapsing even addressing the real needy under the very meaning of " Economically and Socially Backward Classes " . CONSTITUTION / SUPREME COURT WILL NOT LET OR SET THE STRIVING NEEDY WHO IS HOUSE-LESS , JOBLESS , PROFESSION-LESS , EVEN LITERATE OR ILLITERATE TO STILL SUFFER & STARVE BECAUSE HE IS SALUTED OR HONOURED BY OTHERS . more
