Regarding my wisdom teeth

Dear Friends,
Recently I got X-Ray of my teeth and get to know that one teeth is grown horizontally and rest 3 are also not about to come out because of bone.

I have no pain or problem. I just had a regular visit to dentist and get to know about it.

He suugested the surgery for all. Please advice what should I do? more

You need not go for removal of all the wisdom teeth unless they are the cause of some problem. The concept of routinely removing every wisdom tooth is old and outdated. more
My age is 33 and as of now no pain. Another doctor said tht sometimes it cause no pain even later also so I should not get any surgery done. Here I got mixed opinion :-) but to be on safer side I diecide not to go for any surgery. more
Dr. Miglani has correctly said that a good dentist will be able to extract it; I got this done years back. The dentist had cautioned me that it can break during extraction, there could be a lot of blood and pain but it was a relatively easy extraction with no breakage or pain later on :) more
Hello Pooja, by the way what is your age?. Though I am not a dentist, but by my experience as a doctor and also by personal experience; I can say that many people who have small mouth and small jaw bones(as my own case) never get their wisdom tooth erupted, nor do they face any problem. I still have 28 teeth and never faced any problem about wisdom teeth lying dormant in the jaw bones. You can get the surgery done ONLY if it causes any pain due to non eruption and gets (IMPACTED) due to being horizontal. Otherwise just forget about it and enjoy. more
Pooja. Never depend on one Doctor. Always have a 2nd Opinion. G.K. 1 Gurdwara Medical Centre there are Reitired Dedicated Senior Dentists come. You can Call: S - 195, Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Greater Kailash I, New Delhi, Delhi - 110048, 29233690 and ask the Timmings of the Dental Surgeon. They will give you a honest ethical opinion. You can get your job done there if convenient. Good Luck. more
