Reform entertainment industry

No mother and son can sit and watch a movie or commercial. suggestions:
1. Review censorship standards with immediate effect
2. Institute a special team to research and filter out subliminal degradation through entertainment media and implement reforms

Highlight will be explicit show of alcohol, vulgar scenes, misleading dialogues, projection of evil as heroism. Ban cartoons that show any trace of violence

We want to give our children a true sense of identity, not the one decided by vested interests like MNCs and western lobbies. The identity of a slave consumer more

It is difficult to know when a certain commercial will show up. Therefore either let those commercials be set up in a certain time frame so that the parents are aware OR 10 mins before the advertisement comes up wave a red flag ensuring that the viewing party has the time to change over for that much time. Thus it is not the question of any interference, or becoming an adult. It is of knowing what is going to come up before hand. The viewer should be imformed and I think the government must treat every section /opinion fairly. You want to advertise liquor, no problems. I do not want to watch it, so let me know before hand. That is being fair. more
Besides, did anyone ever ask why there is so much violence in our movies? Why are we made to feel inferior that our skin is brown when westerners in my part of the world apply tanning cream to get brown? Did anyone ask whether or not we need so much cosemtics, or are they harmful to our women? Did anyone ask why every ad is a soft-xxx? Did anyone ask why our children's cartoon is making them stressed and making them angrier than ever and uncontrollable? Did anyone ask what relationship there is between conditioning minds and growing minds? Who is teaching you 'exposure' is education? Are there not healthy ways of educating? Why has anyone not asked about the sudden spurt of crime and their links to alcoholism. I am surprised that we are even having a debate about this. If you are so much after education, please browse "New World Order Aims" or "Committee of 300 aims" to explore further about how decay is orchestrated as against gradually naturally made. Hope you would consider my thoughts and do more research into this. By the way, my 16 year old daughter hates the entertainment media - ads, movies. Don't ask me why. She has tall moral standards more
Sourav, Thank for your comments, it is healthy to have a critical view of my comments as this is the first time I am coming across someone who thinks the entertainment media is in perfect health. However, I do have to completely disagree with you in that it is certainly the role of the Government to ensure the culture and moral environment is free from set-agendas and narratives which could be potentially harmful to the future of our children. You seem to be unware of the amount of lobbysm that is happening in the entertainment industry today. There is much to do with how our mindset is prepared by the organised and targeted Meat and liquor mafias and lobbies. In doubt, check with some insiders of Kerala film industry, they would tell you exactly how your mind is manipulated by these lobbies and why. I have no time clarify and direct your thoughts myself. But rest assured, that there are bigger conspiracies running the state than what you would care to know. Besides, if Government has no role to play in censorship, why are there any censor board at all? Will you watch an adult movie with your daughter just so that she is educated? I find your post and thoughts amusing. more
I respectfully disagree with your opinion. It is not a government prerogative to tell people what we should watch or not watch. Infact, the part of being an adult is understanding what is correct and humanistic and what is not. There is no place in a free society to monitor or censor things based on the opinions of a few groups of people. I do understand your concern with things which might make you uncomfortable but there is a system to protect such things from accidental/unwilling exposure. You cannot possibily ask for them to removed altogether. Freedom of information is as essential as freedom of speech. Consumerism is a different dimension from censorship, and I hope you understand that. We want our children and youngsters to be free thinking, critical and humanists. They should be educated on right and wrong and prepare them for a very different future. The strength of culture and morals is not something you impose but rather grow organically. We should be focussing on them to be proud of their culture, values and country; while also being critical of things. I hope you get my point across. :) more
