Yes — your example seems plausible and is consistent with observed patterns in private healthcare in India. While higher charges in hospital context are understandable to some extent (due to infrastructure, bed category etc.), the magnitude of difference (₹1,899 vs ₹8,000) looks extreme and raises questions about fairness and transparency. Patients should insist on clarity and consider alternatives where appropriate. more
Hospitals are mint for its Management, and they do all sorts of loot. The only way to challenge private sector hospitals is to make Government hospitals excellent and force politicians to get treated there only at Government cost with no medical reimbursement. Then see how the Government Hospitals transform. more
There is drop in prices for lab tests due to competition. Check for offers that come for multiple tests, even with Apollo / Manipal . No need to get Vit-D test more than once in 2 years, just take a pouch of Cholecalciferol once in 4 months for Rs. 50 more

All Hospitals loot the patients if you get admitted .They do many unnecessarry tests , experts are called just to see the patients see the charts nd hefty charge for such unnecessarry visits.Gvt is a mute spectator in all this loot as they get a hefty 18% GST n this. more
