Question for FSSAI on cup noodles

Many of the noodles are being sold in plastic cups by brands like maggi, nissin, etc where direction says add hot water.

Hot water on plastic causes a potentially harmful chemical to leach out of certain plastics much faster than usual, researchers have found. Studies have discoverd that bisphenol A, or BPA, was released from some common plastic bottles 55 times faster when they were placed in boiling water.

Are these co.s ensuring that plastic used when applied with boiling water doesnt generate toxic fumes? more

can FSSAI pls answer this one? more
@ Shilpa... You are correct. FSSAI approval is mentioned in some packets but basic details about the packing is not mentioned including expiry date more
Dear Madam, Thank you for raising your concern with FSSAI we appreciate your efforts being knowledgeable consumer towards safety of Food. Further, Consumers are empowered under section 40 to have food analyzed. Since enforcement of Act, is responsibility of State/UTs, you may contact CFS of your State: http://old.fssai.gov.in/Food_Commissioners.aspx On 02/10/17 10:52 AM, Sarita S wrote: > > > > > > more

one thing i suspect is, the assurance of FSSAI is printed on Packet/Box/container. and printing is done in seperate division and packaging is in different division so how much reliable is quality assurance!! ideally it should be on stamp as Milk packets are having date details stamped on it. That could have a satisfaction that this batch number is tested. more
The Food Standards for packaging under BIS prescribes that all plastic containers for the food must be of Food Grade that are expected not to leach when in contact with hot water. And, all the plastic containers must carry the food grade mark. I will appreciate if BIS confirms this, and also elaborate on this issue. I would request the Local Circle Manager/FSSAI to intervene and educate the consumers. more
