Promoting vegetarianism
India is probably the country with the largest no. of vegetarians. But now we are turning into a country of carnivores. Killing animals is a gross disrespect to humanity.
With a prime minister who is sensitive to thus issue we expect some radical changes like spreading awareness of vegetarianism among all sections of society along with steps like discouragement of subsidies to
meat and leather industry.
I would like to invite all to discuss in detail the issue of promoting vegetarianism which has been actually a distinguishing symbol of indian culture. more

Dear Mr.Sharma, Based on the present day health aspect only, the Vegetarians is good for our help and acceptable one. But, It is not an Indian Culture. Before the creation of Saivam & Asaivam principles in the religion, all are Non-vegetarians including the God Shiva due to the God Shiva is originated the great Tamil Paandiya Vendhan (King). The Paandiya King (God shiva) originated in the Tamil land of MARUTHAM and his dynasty is kudumban who are still residing in the southern most district of Tamil Nadu state and their other surnames are MALLAR/PALLAR/DEVENDRAKULA MALLAR/PANDIYAN/KUDUMBAN. Dear Mr.Austin Fernandes, Actually, Beef is not having the food for most of our people due to the Bull is still assisting to the farmer for doing the agriculture in the Tamil land of MARUTHAM. Hence, God shiva is respects the Bull (kaalai maadu) and worshiped by others as God with God Shiva. So, the particular society / caste people of mallar/pallar/ kudumbar / kaalady/devendrakula mallar/kudumi in south Tamil nadu & Patel/Kurmi/Kudumi/Malla/Kunbi/Rajpuths in Northern parts of India never eats the beef meat due to the Bull are assisting in their traditional profession of the agriculture wherein the God Shiva Mallar, God Perumal (Vishnu) & other Gods were originated. After the Ariyans (Foreigners) infiltrated into India, some of them segregated as Saivam & Asaivam in Tamil Nadu. The aborigines of the Australia even the habit of cannibalism, but they never eat the meat of Kangaroo due to they worships the animal. more

Banning beef is the recent buzz in india...which for some is a bad news but i think the leather industry will loose so much of it...also the unemployment rate will go up as so many people will be jobless. more

Many Non-Vegetarians had already started taking only Vegetarian Food understanding the difference . Since recently , many are preferring only Vegetarian Food opting healthcare also in view of various serious deceases found . But still there is need of using only Vegetarian Food among so many which serves many health care and health up-keep purpose of even nerves and brain working which is needed. more
