The ground reality shall be that the prices shall not fall. One reason being the theatre industry has right to increase the basis price and the fixation of the prices by the Govt is under forbearance. It is just the myth being created by the class of the ruling politician that the prices would fall post GST implementation and reduction in the prices may not be conceived too. Basically had the fall in prices was conceived, the first thing should have been GST on petroleum and alcoholic products which have been kept beyond the purview of GST regime. more

In GST there is 18% tax on movie tickets valued upto Rs.100/- and 28% on tickets above Rs.100/-. Every dealer or service provider has to give the benefit of reduction in tax to the consumer and if someone is not giving the benefit to consumer then you can lodge a complaint with GST Authority. Moreover whenever go to movie or buy any thing please make it a habit to ask bill from the supplier so that they can not cheat you by overcharging you in the name of GST. Every dealer or Supplier is bound to issue bill under GST to its customers even if the value of supply or service is less than Rs.200/- but the customer demands bill. more
