Can anybody tell me how to know the price of any finished product eg. Car tyres, before and after the implementation of GST. It is quite necessary to know whether the trader is charging GST over MRP. Even now many traders are not willing to give computer bill (or any bill). They say you can buy if required, without bill and we are compelled to buy, considering the urgency. To whom we can contact in such instances. more
In case of the MRP going up because of implementation of GST, the manufacturer has to publish the new MRP in the advertisement. The manufacturer has also to affix old and new MRP. The taxes are alwayz included in the MRP. As far as bill is concerned, if the retailer is not providing the bill, please complain to State Controller of Legal Metrology/ GST Helpline. more
You will get price chart of a product only from the dealer or seller. There is no two prices available pre GST and post GST. The manufacturers would have revised the prices according to the impact of the new GST rates on their product. If they charge MRP then GST is included or you have to be given bill with break up of product price plus GST on the product price( whether computerised or manual bill with GST no. and etc.,). You may also take help of calling GST helpline support to register your grievance. Please google to find out the contact number. more
let me illustrate how GST will work. Assume the MRP is Rs. 990/- , 1st & for most, the trader or store can not bill more than MRP. Secondly, suppose his cost is Rs.850, inclusive GST, the Distributor has billed him at Rs.720 as BASE price and he charges 18% GST, thus it becomes 850. The dealer keeps the margin of 15% his base price will be (720+108=828) excluding GST and he will charge Rs. 977.04 inclusive of GST, let's round off as 977/-. Because the dealer gets the credit of GST of Rs.130 and he charges Rs. 149/, thus he pays only Rs. 19/- from his pocket (149-130=19) more
