Delhi government has banned entry of medium and heavy vehicles in Delhi from October 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023 to fight pollution in the coming winter season but there is no concrete steps announced on stubble burning with Punjab
Diesel is the fuel in these vehicles, causing so much pollution. Not so with CNG vehicles, hence the mandate decades back converting Delhi's entire bus fleet into CNG. No stubble burning happening now, yet see the level of Delhi's pollution. What has anybody as an individual, done, especially the diesel car owner lobby, about vehicular pollution? Nobody who owns vehicle, does anything about their vehicle's emissions. Yesterday, I went to a petrol pump and saw a person driving in a massive Toyota Fortuner, as single occupant. He might be able to afford this luxury, but does the government make him pay for his contribution towards road congestion and pollution? Automobile companies earn their profits, extracting higher concessions from the government, using job creation as alibi. Diesel should have been long discontinued. What about pollution? more
It is very unfortunate that the severity of the problem has not been realized in true scientific terms which is related with everyone in existing civilization and future one also. It is my humble request to all just to define the term 'POLLUTION' in SCIENTIFIC manner and accordingly to suggest whether it happen only with the onset of winter and later gets disappeared. Please give a serious thought irrespective of any other philosophy. more
