Plastic Rice
Two weeks ago I saw the issue of plastic rice being raised in the circle. Today the following is in papers. Can FSSAI please confirm if they are taking any actions or issuing any advisory on the same?

Dear Mr. Rohit Jain, I think you yourself did not read the contents of the web page that opens upon clicking on the Link provided by you. I read it thoroughly and my conclusions are the following: 1-As of now there don't exist any thing such as "plastic rice" and "plastic egg". 2-There is no doubt that in India, sale of contaminated as well as artificial food stuff is rampant in certain parts of the country, mainly Delhi, Haryana, U.P., parts of Rajasthan. I am not aware of other places but there is no reason to assume that all is well. As a people we are highly (or bloody) dishonest as well as extremely (or bloody) timid. Effect of our bloody dishonesty is that for the sake of earning dirty money we don't hesitate in serving poison as food and the solace is that due to bloody timidity, if the Govt. takes appropriate action and laws are changed so that Food Contamination is considered to be an Anti-national Act of Terrorism or an act of Geneocide, the punishment for which is prescribed as Death Penalty in cases where any death occurs due to contaminated food and Life Imprisionment in all balance cases, no one would evervdare to indulge in food adulteration after one person is hanged or a couple of them are awarded Life Term. Let us hope that the matter receives attention of the persons concerned in the Govt. If this matter does not attract attention of any body in the present BJP lead Govt. chances are that the battle against food contamination is lost for ever. more

Plastic rice can not be sold in India as making this is expensive.This is also not practicable.Rice sellers in the south earlier used to mix fine sand in rice.This is with an intention to make profits.This is also stopped now.Let us not be phobic about plastic rice. more

Mostly plastic rice is possible in costly rice As because it may be convenient to earn Unscrupulous .Whereas there is rare chsnce for any adulteration in cheaper rice. more
