Passport does not prove Citizenship?

It is surprising that as per top government official PASSPORT is not to be accepted as proof of citizenship. World over Passport is treated as proof of citizenship by all countries.
One can understand that Aadhaar Card and Voter ID Card are not proof of citizenship as these can be obtained by any one.

The government itself should come out with details of proofs to be accepted as valid documents to proof ones citizenship. Till then speculation on the subject will continue. more

So far i have not come across with such news. The CAA is not applicable for the citizens of india and voter ID, Passport is a proof of citizenship for india and even PM of india has these documents and he/she does not have other documents then these which are available with the citizens of india. I would recommend not propagate such fake news. more
