Online travel sites - fees and service charges
See how online travel sites apps like make my trip mislead consumers through lack of transparency.
They say you are getting 50% off and then when u get ready to check out levy that much amount in service charges and other fees.
Consumer protection bill and ecommerce policies must address this rampant misleading by ecommerce travel sites more
Make my Trip is a cheat as far as Hotel or flight bookings are concerned. Xigo site is a bigger cheat. Let them be bad, but they should not cheat!. more
We are also facing great problem with MMT. My niece booked 2 return airtkts of Jet Airways thru' MMT for Mumbai-Berlin-Mumbai sector at a cost of Rs.1.10 lacs. As Jet A/W grounded all his flights, we had to cancel the tkts bought thru' MMT. But despite repeated follow up since May'19, MMT has not yet refunded the amount. On approaching IRP handling Jet A/W refunds, we were told to contact MMT for refund. Can Authorities advise what is to be done in this case and how to get the money quickly from MMT ? more
Fully agree with views of Sridhar Mohan. The ecom sites, especially MMT and Yatra will NEVER give full picture of payments till one is on the last page of the booking. more
The e-com sites should be made to display the total amount at one go not bit by bits more
Another trick these travel web sites including make my trip indulge in: When we proceed for booking, it doesn't progress at one stage stating some technical glitch. Once we move backward, we find the fare has increased. Normally when the booking is initiated, fare and seat availability must remain frozen till the ticket is either booked or the customer withdraws within a fixed time limit. This norm is blatantly violated. more
