Olive and Mustard Oil adulteration

I have heard that mustard oil is being adulterated with something that has terrible health side effects. Also even olive oil is being adulterated now in India with cheaper oils.

Can FSSAI shed light on this? Also, who is responsible. Shouldnt it be the brands in case of olive oil? more

Few years ago musterd oil was mixed with argimone (weed seed) oil. The Govt. took it on top priority and overcome the problem. Adultration is related with integrity of processor and bussiness people, and fear level for the law and its enforcement departments. Some how, the second component could not become a strong therad in the system. Customers can go by brand name, price tag (high) or product name but for the fear of adultration, they are not sure of quality and safety of food item. The confidence building among the customers through strong law enforcement is the need of the hour. Dr. SD Kulkarni On 26 March 2017 at 13:52, Shikha Maheshwari wrote: > more
Why there is a need to earn a lot since Govt. is not very strict, if strict then why the NEWS of giving Punishment does not come. The income tax dept, and FDA staff wont have knowledge about this. If they have why they wont take Action. All should be known to Public. more
In my opinion, official staff of FDA should be responsible for it. Dr N C jain more
It is India where corruption and permissiveness have reached such an extent that lives of common man is not at all safe. We hardly get any eatables unadulterated and everyday being loaded with different kind of incurable diseases and as far as lethal diseases are concerned we are topping the international lists. The corrupts and the anti[-socials becoming fat with the money powers earned through anti-social activities are dominating our societies and the governing bodies and creating new criminals as their heritage compelling the common man to fight with their ill luck. more
