Non Performing Banking Assets

Banks should transfer the account to Special reconstruction cell after 90 days of non repayment. This cell should try to help out the entity by way of strategic business advisory like merger, changing business plan, etc for next 90 days then it should be
treated as Non Performing Asset more

The neglect either willful or of lack of responsibility in identifying and analysing the Business within a fortnight of a quarter is the cause of increasing in NPAs and the suggestion of Sri Mandar Godbole is correct in many lines of activities like Accounting , Banking and, Financing which definitely need to have such check . The practice of allowing all at everybody ' s ethics even like the internal audit , , inspection , cost and quality control in addition to the basic and fundamental policies and directive of the above 3 [ accounting ; banking ; financing ] is the root cause of the ills and losses in Industry and Businesses as on date . We already had discussions on NPAs ; BUSINESS ETHICS ; CAs & ACCOUNTING ; BANKING & WRITE OFF LISTING BAD DEBTS ; and all these in addition to the discussions on Taxation , Trusts and Political Party Funds etc., are to be fast redressed and Reformed . more
But RBI failed to act on time more
Reserve bank governor Mr Rajan failed to monitor large NPA accounts more
Many developed countries have a proper regulation of helping troubled industry through independent institutions more
Loans becoming NPA should be checked.Only recourse to banks for recovery is filing civil suits which entails long litigations. In many cases judges donot decree commercial rate of interest. This would benefit thge defaulter.Political interferance is also a problem."write off" culture must be stopped. more
