No fuel for old vehicle is a stupid idea

No fuel in Delhi for old vehicles from July 1 is being implemented.

Diesel vehicles over 10 years old and petrol vehicles over 15 years old will not be allowed to refuel at any fuel station in Delhi from July 1.

Can LocalCircles take this up please?

Two extended family members who have 16 year old petrol cars with 45000 kms and 58000 called me this weekend expressing misery. The pain is real. more

Last week some Traffic personnel from Delhi Police came to NCERT Campus and clicked photographs of all Old Vehicles above 15 years parked in buildings and parking area's inside the campus and issued Pink Challans(attached). Now I was using a Bike which was lying idle for 7 years as my son's friend whose mother expired while he was attempting 12th Board. Due to this he didn't do well and failed in 2 subjects but since he was gifted in playing any Musical Instrument, he got through selection process and joined Indian Navy as Sailor Musician. He was shifted to Orissa for 5 years and then to Goa where he served 4 years this was from 2014. And all the time the bike was parked in our building and during COVID when all transport modes were stopped, I got the bike repaired, changed its battery and tyres and got it road worthy after asking and getting permission of my son's friend who is also like my son. I used the bike for 2 years (Honda:Stunner). I knew that the boy had an attachment for the vehicle as it was a gift from his late mother so I took very good care of the vehicle. However after covid when market opened, I switched to DTC as daily petrol expenses to commute to NOIDA was burning a hole in my pocket and DTC Quarterly Pass was very convinient and cost effective. Now these Traffic police again came to Campus on Thursday ie.19th June and just dragged away all old vehicles (2 Wheelers Only) and kept it at one point and calling the owners gave them this pink slip advising that if we Whatsapp RC, PAN,DL & Cancelled Cheque, they will refund into the account the scrap value of the vehicle. I pleaded with them that vehicle is in good condition and used only inside the campus but they would not budge. What I wanted to know is whether Traffic Police have authority to enter campus and undertake such activity. One Cop was giving me Gyaan that 80% Delhiites have breathing problem and weak lungs due to vehicle pollution. I countered him asking whether despite ban on crackers aren't the same burst in every marriages taking place in Delhi NCR and what action was taken. He dodged the question and took refuge in telling that slowly even that will be implemented. more
Really a very unfortunate decision of the Government under pressure of Car manufacturers lobby, who are the most polluted lobby and our Ministry following them blindly. I would like to know when in Delhi we are having parking crunch in residential colonies as well on Roads, why our government allowing to sell new model's of vehicles without implementing laws for enough parking spaces. In my opinion Government itself is a biggest offender to pollute the Delhi . more
It is very unfortunate that the REAL PROBLEM OF POLLUTION-CLIMATIC CHANGES HAS NOT BEEN SCIENTIFICALLY UNDERSTOOD AND THIS THE MAIN REASON THAT SUCH SITUATIONS ARE COMING BEFORE LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. more
You pay atleast 50-60% tax in form of GST, Cess, Road tax, TCS, Toll tax, registration charges, GST on insurance, PUC and then buy a car, maintain it with proper service, pay excise duty and VAT on fuel. Then one day they make a stupid policy and blindly ban car based on age not on quality of car. No country for Middle class. more
People have problem in every thing more
