NGOs in India - Inputs on Root Causes

Key Issues with NGOs

1. NGOs are being used for money laundering
2. Most of the NGOs do not provide their source of funds
3. Many NGOs carry some hidden agenda
4. NGOs are not listed & categorized by their work
5. Most of the NGOs are working just to oppose Government’s developing projects
6. Some foreign countries are funding NGOs to spread their agenda
7. Many NGOs are being used for political purposes
8. Improper accounting system is being followed by NGOs to
9. In many cases, NGOs are only set up to get funds/land from the Government
10. In many cases, NGOs pay bribes to secure funds from Government and then conduct fraud, inappropriate or illegal activities
11. Many NGOs are run by big companies with some vested interest
12. Many genuine NGOs are short of funds, while fake or fraud ones manage to get huge funds
13. Genuine NGOs are not able to attract good talent
14. In a lot of cases, the NGOs are not able to execute their plans
15. There is a lack of transparency in the working of the NGOs more

Political Party Funds ; Funds of NGOs ; Govt. FUNDS of grants , Reliefs and Subsidies like all possess HIGHLY EMPOWERED POLITICAL DEMOCRACY AND NEED TO BE SUSPENDED FAST . more  
In view of the Isis,Taliban,al Qaeda threat and border problems in east and west and China the GOI must bring a separate dept under Home to monitor ,register audit and track allNGOs . Even NGO s of religious nature or background ,minority related all must be scrutinized . A special cell in banks to mark copies of bank transactions monthly to the Home dept NGO cell to be Marked more  
As and when Govt announces any scheme and releases funds there will be sudden spurt in NGOs numbers to encash the situation. Govt should keep an eye on this aspects more

NGOs like to work in areas well connected but shun isolated, remote and difficult areas. So the problems of deprived are not solved. Some bureaucrats or their spouses directly or indirectly get attached to NGOs for selfish purposes, this need to be curbed. NGOs involved in anti-national activities should be taken task by holding all its authorities accountable. more
