Need for UP Lift Act
Has the UP Govt able to finalise an act that governs lifts and their maintenance. Is it even on their agenda.
Can we please develop one that focuses on citizen safety. Too many high rises now esp in Noida, G.Noida and Ghaziabad and very little in hands of Citizens and Govt to hold lift companies accountable for faulty product or maintenance lapses. more

आम आदमियों की सुरक्षा के लिए पूरे हिंदुस्तान मे कोई नियम दिखाई तो देता नहीं है - आप लिफ्ट की बात कर रहें है यहाँ तो फुटपाथ या सड़क पर चलने मे भी हमे सुरक्षा का अधिकार नहीं प्राप्त है - लिफ्ट मे तो हम कंपनी को उत्तरदाई ठहरा सकते है यदि रखरखाव का करार है पर जो फुटपाथ हमारे चलने के लिए बना है उसे सरकार या सरकारी अधिकारी/कर्मचारी बेच देते है और हम सड़क पर चलाने को बाध्य कर दिये जाते है जहां हमे सुरक्षा का अधिकार तो प्राप्त ही नहीं है ?वस्तुतः हम एक ऐसे देश के वाशी है जहां ना तो हमे समानता का अधिकार है ना ही सुरक्षा का ना ही जीने का ? more

truth is, UP Government officials have tremendous lack of knowledge of such accident may happen in the future and doesn't even want to try. They always wait for accident to happen to make some correction in their rotten system. Its purely UP Government staff unwillingness to make some proactive action they still believe in fire fighting action. more

Bombay lifts act is the most comprehensive lift act and is followed in most stayes, but recently Haryana has adopted it's own act which, in a unique departure, limits the life span of a lift to 20 years! UP too needs to draft it's own Lifts act, and not follow others blindly. more
