Much-awaited verdict in Satyam fraud case today. Must Read.

A special court in Hyderabad is slated to pronounce the much-awaited judgment in the multi-crore accounting fraud in the erstwhile Satyam Computer Services Limited (SCSL) today. During the last hearing on December 23, 2014, special judge BVLN Chakravarthi had said that he would pronounce the verdict on March 9, citing voluminous documents of the case,

Around 3,000 documents were marked and 226 witnesses examined during the trial that began nearly six years back. The case was probed by CBI. Touted as the country's biggest accounting fraud, the scam had come to light on January 7, 2009, after the erstwhile firm's founder and the then chairman B Ramalinga Raju allegedly confessed to manipulating his company's account books and inflating profits over many years to the tune of several crores.

Why will the FIIs or Foreign Corporates trust their Indian counterparts if people like these are not brought to justice ? How can Indian Judiciary put itself on a global map in line with developed countries ? Judiciary is one of the main pillars of any democracy and if this is how it works, then God save India. more
AS I UNDERSTAND ON THE FAMILY BACKGROUND AND HUMAN NATURE AND MANKIND OF SATHAM COMPUTERS OWNERS, RAJU THE REAL RUNNER & MASTER MIGHT BE DIFFERENT THAN THE MD AND CHAIRMAN FAMILY. THERE HAD BEEN AND HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE LIKE THE ABOVE BUT AVOIDED AND IF TAKEN-UP, UNPROVED. more
Again this verdict has been deferred for one more month. What a pity on Indian Judiciary ? more
This is like giving so much time to the culprit who was one of the most powerful persons in India at one time. For a person who had such a strong stature, it is so easy to play with law and get himself out of the shackles of the judiciary. It is a pity that so many employees of such a huge company (50,000+ people) suffered due to that famous self-confession made by this once esteemed leader. He owes to so many families across the globe, but still the judiciary is simply giving him more and more time. What a messy situation this is ? more
Similar to different departments in the govt to govern/serve the citizens, there must also exists different type of courts to speed up the judgments... 1. Court to deal with all Criminal cases related to incidents within City... 2. Court to deal with Corporate Fraud cases 3. Court to deal with Civil Fraud cases 4. Court to deal with divorce cases 5. Court to deal with Women related crimes (rapes, harassments) 6. ...and so on.... And there must be govt ratings, Auditing for each court on evaluating the performance of courts!! more
