MSMEs – Growth engines & Pride of the Country
Before Colonial Rule in India People feel proud to do business and trade rather than go for employment and the mind set in the society to respect the self employed. But the Colonial Rule spoiled this sensitivity in the masses and started aspiring to go for employment.
But luckily there is a shift in our intellectual and enterprise segment of the Country. This trend is more visible in India’s success in IT services in the 90s, which inspired more people to follow a similar path. A quote “It’s capitalism from below, driven not by government intervention and policies but led by entrepreneurs who can then organise and work collaboratively with the government. We need to see how to get more entrepreneurs in India who are successful and can be inspiration to others,”
Besides this, the cultural factors also assume an all-important role in determining the road ahead. For instance, in Bangalore, the mindset is more driven towards starting a business as opposed to other parts of the country where the priority is to get a government job.
Culture makes a difference. The most important thing in Bangalore or Gurgaon is that people don’t care what you are or which caste you belong to. But you are encouraged to invent, tinker and innovate. These cultural factors are very hard to replicate, which is why we have such few cities with a thriving ecosystem
Creating more ecosystems
In order to activate the growth cycle then for SMEs in India, it would be imperative to have more cities and towns where ecosystems exist to amp up the sector.
Government should send Counsellors for propagating this ideology in all Schools across the country. Take the help of NGOs in Education and other sectors to inject the idea into the Young minds of India of Invention, Tinkering, Enterprising as a pride of Nation rather than just earning quick bucks. more

Just like Sports stadiums, Government should create Hubs/Centers for youth & School children to innovate and Tinker the present Industrial & Commerce related practices in Urban India In rural India these centers work to innovate and Tinker the Present Crafts and Traditional Caste Professions. And also set up Hubs/Centers for Improving the Agriculture and its allied activities in Rural India. The model should be to create awareness about best practices in other Countries and to create necessary infrastructure to tinker them forward for making it suitable to Indian masses and to invent better ideas to make our Agriculture and Traditional professions to prosper. more

Exactly Correct. Professional expansion, Trade , the Pillars of Industries which alone Build Economy had been unwisely set aside at Selfish Political interests SINCE AFTER 1995-96 (1) PROMOTING MARKETING BUSINESS OPTING IMPORTS. This is the Root Cause of deteriorating Economy which also resulted in Paucity in General Public for Livelihood and Education CREATED BY THE SO-CALLED CONGRESS. This must be Rectified immediately BOOSTING " MAKE IN INDIA " , Revising Stand-ups , Encouraging Startups , MSME , VILLAGE AND COTTAGE INDUSTRY. For this NEP must be used as a Platform for overall Development of Professionalism, Skills and Trade Technics. DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT COUNCILS SHOULD BE SET PROMOTING.
