Major loot by App taxi drivers

Friends one of our relatives faced this issues from international airport in Delhi. They booked an Ola at airport and when booking fare was 900. This was at 10 pm. When the driver dropped them in Noida he demanded 1900. They were both senior citizen and ended up paying 1900.

Can ola uber put surveillance on trips originating from airport and railway stations? They might unearth these issues. more

Dear Kajal, your complaint is not uncommon. Such Excessive overcharging is done by the aggregate cab drivers and must be punished. However, there are certain precautions and checks available to the passenger. All Ola/Uber cabs will show the fare to be charged on the Cell phone of the driver and also an alert on the passenger's mobile who booked it.If it is the same figure but the amount is much is heavily excessive,as in your case, the passenger has got a right to ask support the reason or claim back the extra charged amount( In your case 1000).The last remedy available is to lodge a report of "Excessive charging" with the RTO as details are available on your phone of the cab and distance travelled . Yes, all this is a hassle .But to safegaurd and acquire our rights as Consumers, we have to fight for it. more
I had booked an Uber from Rohini to Intl Airport in Delhi. But the driver didn't reach at the location to pick the passenger. After repeatedly calling him and wasting lot of waiting time, finally he told he would not be coming and better I should take a local cab from the local taxi stand. At the last moment, I had to rush taking a personal car to reach in time to catch an international flight. Even for the local trips within Delhi, Ola/Uber drivers would simply refuse just like Autowallahs use to do. If you warn the driver that we would file a complaint, he would simply laugh at you or even murmur some explicit slangs. more
Inexplicable is their behaviour because it is not a case of "more demand and less supply", which could understandably lead to marginal increase in fares. But quoting 900 and demanding 1900 is pure loot. From the various members' comments one notices that "senior citizens" have suffered in general. May be the drivers take advantage of the fact that the seniors are more prone to "giving in" rather than "creating a situation" which may be time-consuming. more
I faced a similar problem when I booked a Ola from Karnal to Delhi on 3rd Dec. On reaching the destination, the driver said his data was not working. And my SMS showed only Rs 167, but he demanded Rs 2100 which I had to pay. I am also a senior citizen. From my experience I don't think and expect anything positive from Ola. more
Many time cab driver cancel the booking. Have any solution? more
