Dear Friends:

Misleading advertisements has been a menace and a trap for the common man. Promises like Hair Growth in weeks, Lose Weight in 30 days or Make Money easy are common sights.

With this post, we would like every member to list issues related to misleading advertisements.

Once we know the issues, we will work on Root Causes (if needed) and Solutions through a separate post so we can submit our whitepaper to the key stakeholders in the Government for actions to address this menace.

Govt can not frame any amount of rules . As the expertise of marketing is to find a away out in terms of language either in Tamil or English or Hindi ....etc. or by way of chemical composition. Hence the best way out is GOVT has to form an E forum online with a team of committee across the country, for the people to check about any advertisement or product in the market online. With in one week of the launch or Advertisement . so that any advertisement or product is launched with in one week people will raise all the doubts and the FAQ will give reasons or clarification with in a week. This will only can give a real solution to the people- Also government has to forward these queries to the concerned manufacturer and at the same time govt's concerned departments take the responsibility of validating the manufacturers justification by parallel analyzing i the respective govt authorized labs . this is the responsibility of all states as well as district level authorities. like what they are doing for nestle now and an on line report can be produced ever quarterly for every product - this can help people to ensure that the product is usable and certified by government at at manufacturing end but at user end that is samples from market quarterly or Halyearly or aleat ocnce in a year from every district more

Marketing people have no ethics. For example the usage of the word"HERBAL" on the product attracts innocent and ignorant people to for the product. It is not possible to understand how HORLICKS once sold in the market as a beverage for giving strength to every one is being sold as JUNIOR HORLICKS and HORLICKS FOR WOMEN which is purely but a marketing technique to bag innocent customers.
