Make Parties liable for Poll Promises: CJI

Chief Justice of India J S Khehar has said that poll manifestos have become a “piece of paper“ and politicians and parties must be held accountable for promises which routinely remain unfulfilled.
PM Shri Narendra Modi is requested to revisit promises made in Election Manifesto - 2014 by BJP and fulfill them without any delay. The extract from Manifesto for Senior Citizens is reproduced below:
"BJP will provide financial support, exploring ideas like additional tax benefits and higher interest rates"
But the reality is that NDA Government has reduced the rate of interest from 9.3% to 8.4% for Senior Citizens Savings Scheme 2004 (SCSS) with effect from 1st April 2017, instead of increasing it to 10% as per Petition submitted.
It may be mentioned here that SCSS 2004 was started by UPA Government in 2004 at 9% interest to provide a regular income stream to Senior Citizens and had increased the rate to 9.3% in April 2015 after 11 years. The rate of interest is supposed to go up only to take care of rising prices.
We request PM to increase the interest rate to 10% for Senior Citizens Savings Scheme 2004 with immediate effect as promised in BJP's 2014 Election Manifesto. more

It is extremely dangerous that the Justice system is trying to run the country and is trying to tell the executive how it should function. That is not the job of the judiciary. If they do what they are meant to do lakhs of victims will not be waiting for justice ears later. We all should get worried that they are interfering where they have no business to. Be scared because unlike the executive they do not go for a repoll after 5 years. They also function without any accountability or liability. more
This is the most important step the present BJP GOI must take to help senior citizens specially the people with out pensioners benefits.Along with it a department of senior citizens needs has to be established . more
That was stated earlier, the Accountability and the Responsibility to be ascertained. Presently there is No remedy - remotely available, even the SC is helpless to the effect. Where the common man go.?????? more
