Make Hot Pack at Home

A pair of long socks, 1 cup of rice, · A needle and thread · Any essential oil, and · A microwave.

Take the rice in a bowl and add a few drops of essential oil to it. Now pour the rice into the sock and sew it shut.

Just throw the sock in the microwave for a minute and your hot pack is good to be used. It would stay hot for longer than you think. more

Very nice and practical idea. Thanks! more
Personally I like to apply only wet heat. Both rubber bag and rice filled sock supply only dry heat. Wet heat can be suplied by putting a medium thick wet cloth between the heat source and the skin. Dr G L Moondra more
can we use bajri or jawar instead of rice which available at about half the cost? Dr G L Moondra more
Why not use the rubber bottle filled with hot water as hot pack? A rubber bottle does not cost much and last longer keep water hot/warm for long time. Why waste long socks, a cup of rice and oil? All the people also do not have microwave. more
