LPG Subsidy
From January 2016 Consumers earning above Rs. 10 Lakhs per year will not be entitled to LPG Subsidy. There are 16.5 Crore registered LPG Consumers. However number of persons filing IT Returns are around 5 to 6 Crores only. Therefore only the salaried persons who pay their taxes will not get subsidy, and others who do not pay tax will continue to enjoy subsidy. Another relevant issue is whether all the MPs, MLAs and Bureaucrats have given up LPG subsidy? A better option for the Government is to stop subsidy for everyone and ask persons to submit income proof for getting 12 subsidized cylinders in a year. This will result in more persons coming under tax net who wish to claim subsidy. more

The suggestion of Sri Mohit Pande is not only the best but also the legally valid prompt carry of the LPG Subsidy . All the States do have a certain limit under PDS to Poor . This application will be a set example to various items in future and is the issue of a deep thought to avoid various litigations and demands . more

Salaried employees are already burdened with a lot of tax. Waving off the LPG Subsidy will not be a very good solution. Instead leave the choice to Salaried employees for the subsidy. more

I wish Govt. also stops subsidies, reservations for people who do not follow one child policy. more
