ligament tear

I met with an accidental injury to my knees with twisting internally.MRI results are New thickness mid ACL tear and oblique tear in the posterior horn of meniscus, with bone contusions. now the orthopaedics have put casting in the leg and have been remained immobilised for 3 weeks, followed by the knee braces for the next 4 weeks with exercises. after this if the knee remians instable will have to go for surgery.
pls let me know if any one have gone through arthroscopic surgery.I'am 33 now and any other non surgical treatment to heal this injury. more

Hi Shruti, my son recently has gone through ACL surgery; he's almost 17 & is recovering good. I would suggest the sooner U do it the better it's for U! Take care dear! God bless!! more
Hi Shruti....I also had met with an accident and subsequently about 20years back, underwent Arthroscopic surgery for the meniscus repair. It is a safe form of surgery and you should go ahead with surgery from a good Dr.Subsequently, you should take required physciotherapies as recommended Dr.The only limitation is that after some years post surgery there is a possibility of OA development which my Dr had then told me. more
Hi Shruti, I suffered an ACL tear on my left knee and got an orthroscopy done in 1997. I am perfectly alright since then. The follow up Physio therapies are crucial. Good luck for a quick and safe recovery !! more
