Lift Maintenance- collective failure

See attached, every parent must. For their children and senior citizen parents if they were stuck like this in a lift.

According to me CM, Minister, DM, city CEO, builder, RWA, lift company all have failed this child.

Also where is the central govt that is supposed to make standards.

People die in lifts. Why are there no standards for lift maintenance. BIS, Consumer Ministry and any other department that gives permission to lift makers to install. You all are failing people of India. more

Why is it so difficult to have an emergency alarm system and phone connectivity in the lift? Machines do malfunction sometimes, but these basic emergency measures will inform the responsible persons about the happenings when people get stuck inside the lift. more
Issuing of a regulation for Lift or putting in place a so called LIFT act will serve no real purpose. It is the responsibility of the Managing Committee of the Society that they ensure the lifts have a maintenance contract with the supplier or any similar reliable agency, who should certify the condition of the lift periodically. MOST IMPORTANT is that the Managing Committee- Chairman-Secretary, etc. should make sure that the work is being done. more
Residents must bear the cost of lift maintenance which is not small. Our housing society spends over ₹35 lacs a year for the maintenance of 24 lifts under a maintenance contract. more
Simply issuing a fitness certificate to any building using lift, is not enough, its duty of of local authorities to ensure that they( building management committee) had renewed their respective periodic maintenance contracts as well. Otherwise its an eyewash. more

Lift act must be expedited and put in place by dec 31 more
